A Sense of Gravity biography
A SENSE OF GRAVITY were founded in Seattle by guitarists David McDANIEL and Brendon WILLIAMS in 2011, with their debut EP released later that year. Within a few months the lineup was built up with keyboardist/guitarist Brandon MORRIS (ex-COLLIBUS), drummer Peter BREENE (ex-ARISEN FROM NOTHING), and vocalist C.J. JENKINS. 2012 saw the band finalise their lineup by hiring Chance UNTERSEHER (ex-ROWAN) on bass and expand their presence in the local scene by playing shows all around Seattle, opening for numerous bands, including THREAT SIGNAL.
In November, they entered Fastback Studios to record drums for their debut full-length album and home-recorded the rest of the instruments before mastering took place by Jens Bogren in Fascination Street Studios. ''Travail'' was self-released in February 2014.

The breadth of influences of the band includes PANZERBALLET, EXTOL, ENSLAVED, DREAM THEATER and SCAR SYMMETRY among others, their sound presenting an interesting mix of jazz harmonies, polyrhythmic grooves and melodic progressive metal with extreme elements.
