BAMBIR, originally known as ANGIN QARER, is an Armenian band with roots in the Soviet-era 1970s. The group has played and recorded for more than forty years, and exists today in a number of forms including the original lineup, and a spin-off but related four piece (THE BAMBIR) that includes two sons of the band?s vintage lineup.

The band has fans throughout Central and Eastern Europe as well as Russia, and was a marquee act at the 2014 SXSW music festival. The group plays a range of music including variations on medieval Armenian folk, hard rock, and reworkings of the Armenian priest/composer Komitas.
