Galactic Cowboy Orchestra biography
Hailing from Minnesota's Twin Cities, GALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA are a four-piece consisting of Don Neale (guitar), John Wright (bass), Lisi Wright (fiddle, vocals) and Billy Thommes (drums), who recently replaced original drummer Mark O'Day. The band was formed in 2009; its debut album, "Lookin' for a Little Strange", came in 2010, followed by "All Out of Peaches" (2011) and "Zombie Mouth" (2014). In 2011 they also released two CDs of classic blues and country covers, titled Songs We Didn't Write 1 and 2.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra call their music "jazzgrass art rock", deftly blending jazz, classical, bluegrass, art-rock, Indian ragas and their own original stylings (not to mention a healthy dose of humour) to create a unique genre. They are also very active as a live band, and were invited to perform at the 20th edition of ProgDay (Chapel Hill, NC) in the late summer of 2014.
