Ion biography
ION is a San Francisco based act formed in 2011. Their style of music combines aggressive black metal with post metal and waves of ambience and acoustic passages, culminating with a sound somewhat similar to acts such as FEN and WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM yet more experimental in approach. The vocals vary between rasps and deep growls, and fast tremolo riffing gives way to soft acoustic guitar strums within the unusual and lengthy song structures. Aspects of bands such as ISIS as well as ALTAR OF PLAGUES imbibe this band with unpredictability in their compositions. Their self-titled debut was released in April of 2014.

The current roster includes Adam HOUMAM on drums and vocals, Ryan DANIEL on guitars, vocals and synthesizer, and Dan PERDOMO on bass.
