THE BOY, THE BIRD, & THE BEAST is a project begun in 2010 by currently Seattle, WA, based musician and software development engineer Micah JAYNE (originally from Salisbury, Maryland) along with fellow musicians Tyler RINGER & Jeremy RAY, whom he met whilst studying at the University of Maryland, and who were responsible for the lyrics and original album concept. Recording began on May 2nd, 2010, and was completed on August 21st, 2011.

In the subsequent 4 years, Micah spent time on and off re-programming instruments, mixing, and mastering the resulting self-titled album. It was quite a task, with some songs containing as many as 94 tracks. They all feature a wide variety of unique and often little-known instruments. The full credits can be read on the project's bandcamp, from where the 32-minute album can be obtained. It features 7 songs, all coming together to form a story, while each song seamlessly transitions from one track to the next as the journey continues. Each track also has its own artwork, a scene selected from the Tapisserie de l?Apocalypse (tapestry).
