Stefan Holm - Born 27 November 1977 (Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, Denmark)
Ste van HOLM ? a musical shape shifter
Ste van HOLM (born Stefan HOLM, 1977) is a Danish musician and video artist living in North Sealand, Denmark.
He started playing guitar at the age of 13 years combining it with an interest in writing songs and producing music. His inspiration came from British rock acts and composers of the 70s like PINK FLOYD, Mike OLDFIELD, GENESIS and lead singer Peter GABRIEL, Brian ENO and KING CRIMSON.
When Ste van HOLM could afford to build his own home studio, he started focusing on producing music and worked as a live sound engineer for bands like ENTAKT and other local Danish musicians. During the late 90s Ste van HOLM toured around the Danish rock music scene and was often found backstage at some of the big events.
After 2000 he was offered a position as a studio manager in Media Sound Studio, where he worked with popular Danish pop and rock artists like Michael FALCH, Peter VISKINDE, Mike TRAMP, Big Fat Snake, DJ ENCORE and others.
Ste van HOLM has released six albums of original material between the years 2001 and 2015.
Each album represents a different category of music within rock, progressive rock, pop and new age, as he wants to challenge new borders and test new possibilities. ?I always try to push the limits and move a musical genre to new places. The sound on my six albums has developed and moved from one category to another. From ambient music on my first album 'Odyssey' to pop music on 'Anyway' released in 2009 and now to progressive rock on the new album 'Tesla'?, explains Ste Van Holm.
Lyrics are often about scientific topics like radioactivity and electricity and the people behind the concepts and inventions. On the latest album 'Tesla' Ste van HOLM has focused on the Serbo- Croatian inventor Nicola Tesla, who introduced the system of alternating current used everywhere in the world today. ?Tesla? is a concept and theme album about the life and inventions of Nicola Tesla.
