Kes biography
KES is a Istanbul-based instrumental progressive rock band.

Though the sound of KES reminisces of the loudness, power and energy of bands as MESHUGGAH, METALLICA and TOOL, their album "Kamlama" dares to take a step beyond these illustrious names and explore new, Turkish territory.

KES was formed in 2012 by Mehmet DEMIRDELEN(Drums), Cenk TURANLI(Bass) and Emre KULA(Guitar), who met as students at Istanbul's Yildiz University's School of Music. Listening to KES, the flow, funk and friendship between these talented musicians immediately becomes clear. Having recorded the album live certainly aided its high level of energy.

The progressive rock audience will appreciate the musical craftsmanship of the album, the drums, bass, guitar and their intricate arrangements catch the listener right away. From the first beats to the last notes, this is an album made by musicians with a capital M.

With "Kamlama", KES does an impressive job in showing where instrumental progressive rock music could be going the coming years. Not surprisingly, it's been said KES is one of the best things that happened in Turkish rock lately.

"Kamlama" was recorded live in January 2014 by Murat Gülbay and Cem Ömeroğlu at Maslak 1024 Studios.
The album was mixed by Cem Ömeroğlu and mastered by Selim Demirdelen.
The cover design was made by Şakir Kış and Zeynep Kış.
Selim Demirdelen shot the first music video for the track Hak.
Lin Records released the album in February 2015. The album is available as CD, on vinyl and digitally.
