Think of Canadian band SAGA, especially the "Silent Knight" LP without Michael Sadler's vocals. Toss in Ian Anderson-like flute...and you've got the entire Solaris - "Marsbeli Kronikak" LP, along with some interesting sound effects (aliens?). A tad overrated this one, but still recommended.
