3 stars ELECTRIC MUD were a four piece out of Germany who released this sole album in 1971. Udo the bass player and singer would go on to play with ZOPPO TRUMP who I'm surprised aren't on this site. They were smart enough to have him not sing. Yes the vocals are in German and unfortunately they aren't very good. By the way besides bass we get drums, guitar and piano/ organ. Some mention NECRONOMICON and VIRUS as similar sounding bands. The sound here is dingy, like they recorded it in a garage, but despite all these negatives I like this one.

The organ tends to float along in the background while the guitar solos. The bass is really good and probably the most impressive thing about this recording. Love the intro of bass, drums and organ on the opener along with the bluesy guitar after 8 minutes. The second track is almost ruined by the quivering vocals that come and go. Okay it is ruined despite that dark and heavy sound. The third track hits the ground running and I love that bass. Like all their songs we get tempo and mood changes throughout. Tough to digest those vocals on the closer after 6 minutes. Bathroom break please! And we get it when the music slows down along with the singer. Organ solo before 11 minutes.

So a pretty good album in my opinion that isn't without it's flaws. 3.5 stars. I'm not into the cover art.
