3 stars This compilation perfectly showcases why David Bowie is often referred to as "The Chameleon or Rock Music". Throughout the length of the two discs making it, we are treated to a chronologically organized presentation of Bowies work, from his glam-rock heydays to his present AOR output, travelling through the danceable pop of the 80's and the techno experimentalism of the 90's.

The booklet is nothing to write home about, limiting itself to listing the details of the songs, without going into specifics. In this type of career-spanning compilations it's always nice to have the paper providing some bonuses, such as some personal words or a critical overview, or even some nice photos - none are presented here.

All in all, a decent compilation, perhaps relying too much on the musical content (which, with 39 tracks, is quite generous), and a decent introduction to anyone wanting to explore Bowie but not sure where to start. It is, of course, pretty useless once you really start to dig in David Bowie's discography.
