3 stars A nice little souvenir of the Sounds That Can't Be Made UK tour, Sounds Live was recorded and mixed live at the night of the London show thanks to Abbey Road's mobile studio. The track listing for this tour didn't very that much from venue to venue so if you've heard this one you've more or less heard the rest of the shows - plus the band slip in a version of Estonia at the end especially for the London crowd. The new songs from Sounds That Can't Be Made slide into the setlist gracefully and sound natural next to older material, and the band give high-quality renditions of the entire set, though on the downside the setlist is rather business-as-usual and if you are a Marillion fan who collects their live albums you probably have better renditions of most of the non-Sounds material anyway. Steve Hogarth seems a bit worse the wear for drink at points when he's doing his between-songs patter, but his actual performances are pretty damn good too.
