ECHOES - THE BEST OF PINK FLOYD

"Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd" is by the far most attractive and well assembled Pink Floyd best of complication. The cover art/packaging is has a very Pink Floyd feel to it and there are references to some of their songs on the cover. Now, being very honest this was the first Pink Floyd album I ever heard as I was introduced to many amazing Pink Floyd works. On purchasing Pink Floyd studio albums, I now realise that many of the songs have been shorted considerably, the most grievous loss is that of "Echoes" and "High Hopes." It is hard to get the original feel to some of the songs when they are shorted. Echoes includes a few songs from later Pink Floyd like 'The Division Bell.' "Echoes" has music samples of Pink Floyd from all their phases including the short Barrett era. Echoes is a good place to start when exploring such a band with such a large music base. Good, but non-essential
