SOMEWHERE IN TIME

Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time is my favourite IM album; it's different from the other previous albums, mature and complex. After a strong album such as Powerslave and an amazing live album (IMHO) Life after Death, the band needed to comfirm their "rock giants" status; they surely did, and the '86 album comfirmed their value. There aren't any filler songs here; the use of keyboards is great and a surprise to all fans (at that time). From the first song to the last, the musicianship is amazing, the guitar duo Murray/Smith doing an outstanding job (again IMHO). Bruce Dickinson's vocals sound fresher and better than ever; the rhytms section bass/drums worked great. And we all know what Steve Harris is capable of when he picks up his bass guitar and his work on this album makes no exceptin - an excellent work.

All these being said, I highly recommend this album to all prog-rock and prog-metal fans everywhere, get this album quickly if you have the chance, you won't regret it.
