So this was a Yes album that has recently come to my attention, I was planning my Yes worst to best but I couldn't wait to review this one. Unfortunately, this is Trevor Rabin era Yes without Trevor Rabin. From what I recall, this album was supposed to be a Squire solo album but it was brought up by the rest of the band to attempt and try something with the material written, but it was a mistake. This ended up being Yes's worst album, a collection of poor soft rock songs that sound like Trevor Rabin had lost ideas but... it probably would be better if Trevor was here. As for the playing on the album, it's nothing I'm impressed by, the drumming through most of the album was pretty ok, the guitar playing for the most part wasn't great, the bass playing was great but Chris Squire is a fantastic bassist. I think that the limited keys on this album were all played fairly well, Igor Khoroshev is actually a really good keyboard player but his skilled don't show on this album. As for the production, it's solid, warm, and crisp enough that it wouldn't need a remaster for a long time after it's release. I think that most agree with me that this is Yes's real dud, I think that this album could've been good if Trevor had stayed but sadly for the band, he abandoned ship. From all the times I've listened to this album, I was never really able to find a great track other than the title track, that one had a hook I could actually get into.

Sadly for Yes, this album was a huge let down for Yes fans, and it was even a flop in terms of sales. Thankfully they were able to redeem themselves, The Ladder would later come out and it would end up being a return to form. I suggest looking elsewhere for the best of this era Yes, 90125 is actually a good album with solid tracks. I wouldn't listen to this if you were starting Yes's discography, this will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
