5 stars This is a classic prog rock album. It contains extremely complex music that is certainly not for anyone. Although the mellotron and many other 70's prog influences are abundant, and the band is heavily influenced by Genesis, they have enough originality to create something interesting. The flute passages, with the arpeggiated guitars are very Gabriel/Hackett like (even the crescendo's are done just like Genesis would) Anglagard's dynamic shifts and certainly their faster sections have more chromaticism and classically influenced atonalism than many other prog bands. Perhaps the highlight of the album is the incredible drummer Mattias Olsson who even more remarkably was only 17 when he recorded the album! His drumming is unique and some of the best you'll hear on any prog album. The melodies are beautiful, the music richly complex, and the writing very accomplished. A prog masterpiece.

5 stars.
