4 stars Have not heard anything quite like this...really weird stuff here. After listening to this recording and coupled with the fact that Krautrock never hit it big in the States, I am starting to believe in conspiracy theories :). The question is: What was Amon Duul II saying and why did the government not want us to hear it? I leave the room after a listen to Yeti and do not feel quite the same. I feel somewhat disoriented and rearranged inside. There is definitely no need for drugs to heighten the listening experience of this music. The songs provide that entirely...with compositions that are loud and discordant...and also very addictive. Belatedly, America needs to come and discover a group and in a broader sense, a genre, that sadly passed us by in the 70's. There is a lot a great music here.

For an initiation into Amon Duul II, one might want to start with Wolf City as it offers shorter and somewhat more accessible songs (but still rates as classic Duul fare).
