3 stars The one and only album from this Canadian band....... so far.

Their brand of progressive metal is not the one I am used to and I have to admit I have no bands to compare them to. Neither did the band come up with any bands to compare this music with in their interview. But one band they cannot be compared too is Dream Theater. The music on this album is a blend of very technical prog metal and some atmospheric alternative rock. Their songs changes between an almost ambient landscape and full force heavy slabs of technical, hardcore like ultra heavy metal pieces. The mix of melodies and blasting are the trademark of this band. And to a large extent, they probably sounds like Rush would had sounded like if they had started out today. For all I know, Myxomatosis is the new Rush.

There is no doubts this band has a great deal of ability. They sounds as tight as a duck's lower back. The lack of some killer tracks is hurting this album a bit. But this being a debut album, they have every reasons to be proud of this album. Knot the name of this band down on your list of bands to watch in the future.
