4 stars This album gives you a feeling of deja-vu if you're familiar with the old Marillion. In other words, the voice is very Fish like in some places, but it's not disturbing. The first thought when I heard the music was confusing...it sounded like Starcastle. So the conclusion is: it's a nice progmix with various infuences. Maybe not to complex, but in my opinion you can't go wrong with this one.

PROG REVIEWER
3 stars Jack Yello from Germany formerly (Jagiello - who released one album in 1994) was formed around 2000 releasing so far 2 albums. The debut was released in 2003 Thorns of anger. I reviewed their second one Xeric and I was pretty impressed, I like this type of neo prog going in parts towards prog metal with subtle inventive arrangements, but not being a prog metal band in the end in sound, the combination working perfect on this band on both albums imagine a combination of Arena, Splinter with nice complexity of Dream Theater. The album has plenty of istrumental passages, well played and god damn intresting, dynamic playing. There are lots of hooks and melodic lines with sharp guitar passages and inventive keyboards - Inspiring Confidence, Game Show, Emotional Suicide . All in all recommended album, I personaly like it a lot, unfairly unnoticed band and album in prog circles. From me 3.5 stars easy, very strong. Nice art work and booklet aswell, but I prefer the second one Xeric.
