Collaborators/Experts Reviews

Review by Sean Trane
SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Prog Folk
2 stars Faust's second Cd of their career represents them in their experiments with audio and video mixings. And believe me, that even if you are a Faust fan, you'd better wait until this DVD appears on the second-hand market, because even if there a reasonable retail price for the object new, it will still too much asked for the results. What you get is a bunch of repetititititive minimalist music (that's nothing new from Faust, it's even a trademark of theirs), but you also get a bunch of repetitititititive steady camera footage where there's absolutely nothing happening except for colour filter changes, brightness twiddles, reversing the images up/down or left/right. We get two minimal length 72 footage watered down (or watered up if you wish) , but these are no concerts, just home or studio filming and recording. The pictures in the booklet may induce you into thinking there must be more than I'm willing to tell, but you'd better trust me one this one. Unless a complete advocate of the devil, having you selling your soul to Faust, you'd better stay away from this. Math rock or noise rock fans (Hella or Flying Luttenbachers) might actually enjoy this type of DVD.
