4 stars The double DVD of both parts is almost 4 hours of non stop Metallica. But here we have part 2, the best part in my opinion. The documentary features when Metallica had completed the pinnacle groundbreaking Black Album that really made the music world sit up and take notice. Even non metal fans were no longer ignoring them. They were suddenly a household name with songs such as Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters. They were on the radio and many thought they had sol dout but that was not the case. The live shows were as energetic and crazy as ever, but hte difference was the band were selling out massive stadiums and this doco captures the success and excess of this vital era for the band. There are some humorous moments and some insanity as you might expect. References to Spinal Tap were unforgettable ut the performances are now infamous; that image of Hetfield decked out in black with V Wing and microphone up the nose is iconic. The band are mature in the video but still know how to party. They are serious about their sound and to ensiure everything is perfect for their fans. We hear from the crew and see how they overcome overwhelming odds. There are many live performances, and some bonus features include the music videos we all have seen and some live songs. All in all it is Metallica when they reached the top of the mountain of success and... nothing else matters.
