2 stars I bought this CD several years ago mainly because of two reasons - it was tagged "nice price" (I paid only 3 EUR) and it contained several songs that I lacked in my collection, notably "Mad Love Is Coming", "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone".

Only when I put it in my player had I realized that this was a live album, recorded in acoustic "unplugged" fashion (quite popular during the 1990s when it was recorded). Remembering their "bigger than life" heavy rock sound with some irresistible prog leanings from the early 1970s, I was disappointed to hear their hits melted down to a singalong pop crowd pleasers. This is all very nice, optimistic and light-weight but I expect something more from music.

Still, no album containing "Eight Miles High" can be assessed as totally bad, especially when it is nicely performed in acoustic set. Hence, I give "The Naked Truth" simple 2 stars - unless you are a collector, you won't miss much if you bypass this album. That is the naked truth.

3 stars An Entertaining Acoustic Album

The first version I got on this acoustic live set was in cassette format because I was not so sure how good the live performance was. As I played the cassette many times as it's quite entertaining finally I wanted to collect the album in CD format and I am very happy with this album. With a warm introduction from Barry Hay the music flows nicely from its legendary 'Jangelene' that sounds like The Rolling Stones music; followed beautifully by 'Another 45 Miles' in the vein of melodic pop rock. I especially like the time when the band plays 'I Can't Sleep Without You', 'Radar Love' and 'Twilight Zone'. Of course 'Twilight Zone' is my all-time favorite as the music flows beautifully for relatively long duration. I especially love the energy of the song. 'Radar Love' - Golden Earrings world wide hit and legendary song is an excellent one performed acoustically right her.

It's really a very good and entertaining unplugged live album. Keep on proggin' ...!

Peace on earth and mercy mild - GW

2 stars At the end of a workin'day it can be nice to visit the theater to see an acoustic concert of the Earring. At home it doesn't work; only a couple of songs from each Naked Truth album and I'm done with it. On this album they re-discovered Another 45 Miles and they kept on playing it for the rest ...
