Review by Evolver
SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Crossover & JR/F/Canterbury Teams
4 stars This is not a bad little album for Bill Frisell and his trio (little? it clocks in at over seventy minutes). The band is really in sync, and the recording quality is superb. And the choice of compositions here shows why Frisell is listed at this web site. While the majority of the songs here showcase the band's improvisational skills, especially Frisell's quirky but fluid guitar, they also display his skills as a songwriter. Most of the pieces are based around Frisell's inventive chordplay, and some also have the changing themes and rhytmic structures that we here at PA so love.

Highlights on this album are Crumb/No Moe, where Frisell mixes his own tune with a Sonny Rollins classic, and Child At Heart a ten minute piece, where the whole band gets to stretch out.
