PROG REVIEWER
4 stars I like this collection of the early period, concerning the remarkable career of Novalis...well it's a must-have for the lovers of such "Romantic Art Rock" with Hammond organ and Mellotron, enriched by means of elements of "Space rock" too, according to the German tradition of the seventies! In fact They are from Germany and -regarding of the strongest moment of inspiration for this fertile band- I think that every new listener could be astonished at his first approach with their music (a mix between the early King Crimson and a different style closer to the "Space Rock" music of Pink Floyd), cause of the originality of this ensemble and their simplicity as well, in the same time...but as you know such simplicity doesn't mean that They are "simpleton" in the construction of the songs, because They demonstrate that the progressive approach has not to be complex in the arrangements forcedly in order to be appreciated, naturally as long as They are able to keep on maintaining their level of inspiration very high (unless you love the virtuosity belonging to a different "bombastic " music in the vein of ELP for instance).
