3 stars 3.5 for sure

Battesini is a brazilian progressive rock band taken the name from the guitarist Saulo Battesini former in Quaterma Requiem and Kaizen, releasing first album in 2010, named Scored fractals. The band features known musicians from brazilian prog school, like Mario Leme from Kaizen, Bacamarte and Aether, William Murray also from Bacamarte and Kaizen and Wagner Andre from Kaizen. The music is complex, evolves between symphonic progressive rock very much like the bands from above mentioned to jazz and classical music. The album is all instrumental, with long pieces, well developed and complex arrangements, nice guitar chops and great keybords parts. Quite good debute, ok, nothing really groundbreaking overall, but nevertheless good album with great moments in part and great musicianship. Must be discovered by many as possible prog rock listners. Great cover art btw. 3.5 for this album
