3 stars This is a wondrous trippy workout served by German solo psychonaut Johannes Schulz aka VINTAGE CUCUMBER. I take it for granted that you're open-minded ... and in the right mood once in a while in order to listen to something special ... just put on your headphones and dig this out. Well, I did it, short while ago, and afterwards it was immediately clear that I had to write a review ... eh ... don't know why exactly ... as if somebody or something gave me the order ... mysteriously ... hihihihi ...

VINTAGE CUCUMBER handles all instruments on his own, speaking of guitar, bass, drums, synth and even violin. However, this is far away from a single-tracked sounding affair nevertheless, thus - on most occasions - it appears more like a homogenous band is playing. The opening song is a short weird vocal acrobatic thingy what leads into Captain Klötenpötter's journey then, showing standard rock instrumentation now, aimlessly meandering from here to there though. Guten Morgen Computerwelt on the other hand is achieved on the electronic playground, German narrration inclusive.

The following songs - featuring complete instrumentation again - offer a lovely trippy, hallucinatory atmosphere. The extended The Hots Fette Sonne marks the highlight ... whatsoever this title means ... an entertaining piece of work for sure, which removes you from this world sooner or later. The label VINTAGE CUCUMBER stands for dreamy excursions beyond imagination, offered with krautrock appeal in the mood of Magdalena Solis, to name a reference (at least partial) which comes into my mind. Don't hesitate and visit the arranged bandcamp page - 3.5 stars.
