SPECIAL COLLABORATOR
2 stars An old-fashioned Krautphrase convolutions.

STAN UND HILDA are renowned as a Krautrock-related duo and it's said this album is compiled with massive amount of sound material recorded and produced since 1968 until 2011 (during this period they would have worked with a couple of Krautrock legends I've heard). We cannot help possessing magnificent expectation for them obviously. The first percussive plus spacey electronic exclamations will give us some comfort and a bit irritation really.

Their hypnotic repetitive electronic sound operation sounds like a hunter be chasing a large beast around and around upon the same turf ... exactly reminds us of the same vein of a Krautrock legend NEU! so directly. There is no "unexpected mystery" nor "amazing innovation" but "simple personally-made electroformation" by them. Some ethnicity with electronic percussion or dreamy deformed synthesizer- based drone might be interesting and impressive but sadly we cannot feel they would have broken out of old-fashioned shell called as German psychedelia.

In this sense this compilation can be thought as a compilation of their history. Not bad though ...
