5 stars Krautrock at its best, in today's world, according to Aidan Baker + THISQUIETARMY.

Eric Quach aka THISQUIETARMY and Aidan Baker plus David Dunnett, Felipe Salazar and Jeromie Mortier, all 3 on drums, release this live and kind of brief (41 minutes) yet flawless as intense and exploding with high leagues artistry, one long song performance "Hypnodrone Ensemble" in 2014.

Sophisticated as hell in comparison to the Krautrock of yore , it in return offers the same clashing, super intense, fast paced, epic/hypnotic sounds but through a highly inspired songwriting and an up-front flawless performance.

Avoiding all KRAUTROCK's repetitive protocols like "mild" jokes, "banal lyrics", never-ending drum twists, bland impros just for kicks, boring detours, no, no! No respect for any kind of Krautrock's cheap tricks!

And yes, yes yes! This effort's energized altitudes are set by its highly creative freedom but also by its loosely tight but extremely focused performances that even if " sophisticated" still hold that unpretentious and careless manners of those same memorable Krautrockers.

A frantic intensity rarely found in Baker's releases, it somehow adds up that the quiet restless THISQUIETARMY enhances Baker's classical training both as composer and performer to new altitudes.

Far easy *****5 "flawless as creative and groundbreaking" live release, PA stars.

PD: Yes! I know Mr. Baker is settled in the Prog/Electronic genre but this realease is pure Krautrock.
