1 stars A strange compilation album which was released in Australia in 1990. I think that I once saw a copy of it in one record shop in my city. I don't remember well now, or maybe I'm confusing it with another compilation from the band which was titled "Turn It On Again -Best of 81-83" which also was released on the Vertigo Records label in several countries in 1991. Anyway, I consider this "The Vertigo Years" album a strange compilation because it has ALL the songs from their 1983 self-titled album, and a few songs from their "Abacab" (1981) album ("Abacab", "Man On The Corner", "Another Record "), the B-Side of their "Duchess" single from 1980 ("Open Door"), and "Misunderstanding" from their "Duke" (1980) album. Unfortunately, I don't consider their "Genesis" album from 1983 as one of their best albums. In fact, for me it's their worst album. The rest of the songs in this compilation are better in comparison. I think that the "Turn It On Again - Best of 81-83" album could be better to buy it , because it has more variety from the songs that were chosen from that period of time, also including some songs which were recorded live in concert and which only were previously released as "B" Sides of some singles.

Only for completionists.

Like in other countries, some of their albums were also released in my country (Mexico) on LPs and cassettes on the Vertigo label ("Abacab", "Three Sides Live" and "Genesis") by Polygram Discos. Others were released here also by Polygram but on the Philips label ("...and then there were three..." and "Duke") and one on the Charisma label ("A Trick of the Tail") in the mid seventies-early eighties. By 1986-1993 their new albums were released here by other labels (RCA/Ariola in 1986, and later by EMI/ Virgin) on LPs, cassettes and CDs.
