4 stars Dean Watson continues his journey through instrumental fusion prog rock with his latest album and he seems to get better with time. This one is a 51 minutes epic song. It is surprising to hear the quality in the instrumentation for someone who plays all instruments. He is as good with his guitar playing then with his piano and keyboards. He has learned to craft his style by absorbing many influences from the giants of the past if you think of DiMeola, Holdsworth or Keith Emerson. His prog rock music infused with some Jazz remind me at times of what the other Ontario band Nathan Mahl was doing but at a slower pace. This is not a complex album to get into, the guitar and keys never take the spot of the beautiful melodies that light up the music in 50 minutes that goes quickly. The production is clear and the mix perfect, you can even be surprised by the sound of the drum machine. This one will appeal to fusion prog rock fan but also symphonic prog rock fan, classical music has always been a major influence in Dean's music when he was listening to his mother playing piano in his early age.
