Review by Seyo

3 stars This EP with 4 songs SMAK recorded in April 1976. It was packed in a gatefold sleeve where a small satellite jumped out from inside after opening - quite a novelty for the then Yugoslavian record production. The label RTV Ljubljana organized a high-level promotion of this record in the airplane flying from Belgrade to New York, where they shot a promotional video. The title track was a major hit, "Sumadijski Blues" was one of their better attempts to create a blues ballad, while "Slikar s Pikadilija" is a strong funk-fusion. There is overall hard-rock/funk/fusion element with heavy use of Hohner clavinet, Hammond organ and nice guitar solos by Mihajlovic (check the wonderful solo in "Sumadijski Blues"). The last song "Covece ti si mlad" is not that good because Arandjelovic presents his erratic vocalizing and spoils already weak number. Not an essential part of SMAK discography in any way, but at least two songs are their classics. I would give 2,5 stars actually.
