Kshettra biography
Hailing from Zheleznodorozhnyi City, Moscow, a mixture rock unit KSHETTRA (they say "kShetra" a Sanskrit word means "holy field, area, tract or land") were founded in 2007, firstly as a duo by Boris GAS (bass) and Viktor TIKHONOV (drums). They invited a saxophonist Boris PEPELIN but got disbanded after recording their first demo material in 2009. In late 2010, KSHETTRA were reformed by Boris, Viktor, and a new guitarist Nikita GABDULLIN. They recorded their first full-length creation titled "i" at VlaGa Records and IWKC Studios from 2011 until 2012. In November 2012 "i" was released via a Moscow-based independent label R.A.I.G. Records.

Sadly they were suspended because Nikita left the combo, but the duo KSHETTRA - Boris and Viktor - were re-reformed again in late 2013. They played upon stage at Moscow clubs and so on. In 2015 Nikita temporarily came back to the combo for recording and releasing an ep titled "YAR". In the meantime they came across a session brass instrumentalist Ramille MULIKOV as Viktor recorded an album with his other project Detieti in the studio of Nikolai SAMARIN from post-rock band IWKC. "Five Mothers" featuring their mid-2010s repertoire material was recorded in collaboration with Ramille and Nikolai and launched in January 2017.
