4 stars LORD HELMET is drummer Adam FIGURA and multi-instrumentalist, singer David TOMKINS, who are releasing their 2nd album here on contemporary progressive rock influences. KING CRIMSON, PORCUPINE TREE and BOWIE in the background, post-punk from the early 80s and an alternative, grunge side of the 90s: Heavy dirty, dark, ethereal prog.

"Phased Out" opening burst percussion, sound reminiscent of OSI, tortured King Crimson, rock ... distorted, atmosphere with hypnotic break. "Nothing to See" oppressive, creepy rhythm, based on an angry guitar and muffled voice embellished with a hammering prog trip break, reminiscent of Rush. You 'You Will Be Gone' 'on a groovy chord, stellar vibe, limit saturation sounds reminiscent of Monster Magnets for a casual stoner space rock. '' Etched in Stone's more hit rock-pop, cold pop, neo wave, haunting. '' Moth 'heavy and heavy rhythmic intro, on the Rogue Male of the 80's; the guitar looks for throbbing sounds with Joy Division, Simple Minds for psychedelic synths. The 'Thrak' era King Crimson station wagon returns with the sound of Depeche Mode's best period. '' These Eyes (I Don't Dare) '' energetic, alternative tune, distorted sound and electrified voice; the guitar gives a strident overloop effect with siren. Real 'Real to Me' 'always on this creaky climate, hammered by drums present and space guitar; the rhythm on Rogue Male. "The Setting Sun" for 9 minutes on a pre Motörhead rhythm, rocky and worn voice, heavy riff; we are then caught in hyper space with a groovy ambient; solo drums amplify the sound and send you back to another world.

LORD HELMET releases a heavy progressive frame which holds in suspense, the sound seems to come out of your body connected to 380 volts; frenzied and unhealthy rhythms, icy and scary keyboards, everything is there to stun, disorient, hammer and empty you in a frenzied way.
