Braia biography
Born in the Brasilian state of Minas Gerais, after having founded the celtic-metal band TUATHA DE DANANN of whom is the frontman and the composer, the multi-instrumentist Bruno MAIA started this side project in 2006. Respect to Tuatha De Danann, his music is more acoustic oriented.
The debut album was recorded in 2007 in France, then it was followed by a live DVD self released. For about a decade both the projects remained silent, to resurrect in 2020.
BRAIA is mainly a BRuno mAIA project, but it also features the drummer Fabrício Altino, the contrabass of Anderson Silvério, Alex Navar on the Irish Bagpipes, and the keyboardist Rafael Castro. Some guests must be mentioned: The vocalist Isabel Tavares, the multi instrumentist Marcus Viana and the violinist Nathan Viana.
BRAIA adds to the celtic soundscapes, some influences from rhytmic tradition of Minas Gerais.
