Michael Sadler biography
In 1977, taxi driver MICHAEL SADLER met with humble beginnings penning songs with friend JIM CRICHTON after his shifts. Later that year they formed the Canadian band SAGA, to great international acclaim. MICHAEL is well-known for the classical influence in his vocal technique, most clearly displayed in early Saga albums (of which he also played some bass guitar!). This quality has been toned down over the years to conform better with the slightly more pop-tinged music that both SAGA and his solo efforts require.

MICHAEL has released two solo albums, "Back Where You Belong" (1998) and "Clear"(2004). These albums harken back to the mid-80's SAGA sound and offer wonderfully talented musicianship and of course MICHAEL'S voice is on powerful display.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys the "Worlds Apart" to the "Behaviour" SAGA years!

4 stars while I was waiting on the new Saga album, I discovered that Micheal Sadler had done something solo. Then it is a must have for me. Saga is the band that introduced me to the prog scene. This is definitely a great piece of work. It's fresh to hear new musicians with the smooth voice of mister Saga. If you listen to it some more you can hear the great diverence in music, only a prog man can come up with. Don't get me wrong, it's not rock all the way, it's not keyboards all the way, but well balanced songs that will stand out in all the guitar storms.

Review by adrian coleman

4 stars Michael Sadler is a true star.He has one of those unique voices that many have tried to copy, with all having failed. "Clear" is not a SAGA album.I repeat,if you want SAGA,don't go there. What it is,is a truely wonderful album, which my wife loved from the start. Yes,I expected a SAGA album.Took me longer. It has fantastic vocals, not only from Michael, but in the vocal arrangements themselves. The musicianship is first class. The songs well written. If you appreciate great vocals then buy. A wonderfuuly crafted album which relaxes and stirs all in one.
