Tapetto Traci biography
Tapetto Traci is an Avant-Jazz French quartet that was formed in 2000. They started as an acoustic jazz band with rock tendencies and their two first albums, Relax Ay Voo and Sucre d?ogre, features this kind of music, with slight chamber-rock influences. After these albums, around 2007, they changed their sound to a heavier kind of music, but still adding jazz elements to it. They turned to a more avant-gardiste approach too. You can hear this other side of theirs in their 2009 album, Neurula. I personally consider both of their musical eras to be good, but they would probably appeal to different audiences.
Trapetto Traci toured with Zu, Cheval de frise and Api Wizz. They have been compared to these bands and Zappa, Magma, Primus and Mr. Bungle often. They blend different kinds of music to make a unique, truly surprising and creative music.
Members:
- Mederic Grandet / Guitars, vocals
- Sébastien Lavigne / Bass, vocals
- Alexis Toussaint / Drums, keyboards, vocals
- Charley Rose / Saxophone, vocals

Tapetto Traci RIO/Avant-Prog

Review by progadicto

4 stars An album specially dedicated for all those who love the darkest and harder side of RIO!!!

Tapetto Traci second release is quite amazing because the surprising twists that move the listener through different musical landscapes. Entwined with Fred Frith, Univers Zero or Muffins stuff, the constant and sometimes chaotic dialoge between guitar, sax and solid rhythmical sections on drums and bass make this album a fine piece of exquisite avant garde.

From the opener "Déraison" we have all the elements which contains this release which has their hihjlight in tracks such as "Le Pendule", "La Danse De L'Atome" and then thrilling "Magbarat Alzoar". There's just few seconds in between songs to take an exhale of pure air before the start of another raw sections of pure and powerful RIO.

Put this album right into you veins and enjoy it!!!

Thanks to avestin for the artist addition.
