Tomorrow's Eve biography
Founded in Saarland, Germany in 1998

TOMORROW'S EVE is another of the Teutonic prog metal bands with which the market becomes flooded lately. The music is guitar / keyboard driven - a warm crunching guitar at that, with even warmer atmospheric keyboards to complement. Musically, this is signature German melodic prog metal not too far out of the ball park from bands like DREAM THEATER, VANDEN PLAS and IVORY TOWER.

On their second album, you will like those long song passages, check out the 8:47 "Voyager," the 12:27 "Changes," and the 7:40 "Descent Into Insanity" for starters; that should give an idea of where this band has its priorities. This is definitely classy material, and comes highly recommended for those of you who cannot get enough of German melodic prog metal like me.

4 stars I don't appear to have a press release for this, but it's not rocket science to say that the fifth studio album from the band (some ten years on from their last), is a continuation of a story which started on their second album and was continued on the third. Singer Martin Lemar has been at the helm since 2004, while keyboard player Oliver Schwickert and guitarist Rainer Grund have been there since the beginning some six years earlier. There is a new rhythm section in bassist Mike LePond (Symphony X) and drummer John Macaluso (Yngwie Malmsteen, TNT etc) and they have all slotted in very well together. Musically this is a blast from start to finish, think Stratovarius, Symphony X, high speed Threshold and then you may get the idea. There may be only one guitarist, but the way he interlinks with the keyboards soon makes one forget as this is a Hensley/Box or Lord/Blackmore interaction for a new generation. Listen to "Bread and Circuses" when they are both at full speed just to an idea of what I mean.

Lemar sings mostly in a gruff rougher register, going higher only when the time is right, and there is a very Teutonic feel to the proceedings. With just one guitar it allows the bass to be heard more as an instrument in its own right and there are some superb passages where LePond shows he is there to do more than just provide the foundation. A full colour booklet containing the lyrics, and even a song which has been constructed around a poem by Edgar Allan Poe, this is quite a find for me. Progressive metal crossing into power metal at times, this is a metallic delight from beginning to end, and I only hope we don't have to wait ten years for the next one. Here is a band who have been away for a decade and have come back with a huge bang. Seek it out.

3 stars Tomorrow's Eve's last album 'till present entitled Tales from serpentia - 2008. To me this is a step up from the previous album, in manner of composing. Here they are a little more tide up and more confident in their strengh. The concept behind the album is a real dark one and very actual today in may countries and particular in many families. I would not enter in this concept, who wants to know more, just listen the album, is easier to catch the core like that then somebody tells here in fiew words. Anyway the music offerd here is on the same level with the predecesor, but with a plus on compositions, some of them are real strong, some are mediocre, so the final is in betwen,a 3 star album for me. A good album for sure, but I know better albums fro prog metal from 2008. They combines prog metal with some power metal in places, leaving no much space to keys to do the job, only here and there are some solos, but the ones that are already here are good all the way. The voice of LeMare is a real pleasure to listem is very powerfull and has a particular range in this album, from mellow to rough Le Mar shines here, just listen the The Years Ahead, Succubus and Faces, great. In the final is a near 20 min epic prog metal adventure, but I might say this piece never grab me all the way, is a good one, but is not very intristing overall and a little to long. So I will give as I said 3 stars for this last Tomorrow's Eve album, a good one but nothing special.

3 stars Tomorrow's Eve is a german prog metal band who reaches in 2006 to the third album - Mirror of creation 2 - Genesis II . The line up of this album is diffrent from the previous works, here we have a new vocalist, Martin Le Mar, a new bass player and a new drum player, only the main guitarist and the keyboard player stood still. With this line up they've reach to a new aproach in they're sound, now is more tigh and they are more confident in they're skills. The prog metal thy've offered here is well balanced, well done, but something is missing. The voice of Martin LeMar is brilliant for such music, he fits very well here, he has a powerfull range just perfect for prog metal. He also is the singer on Lalu - Oniric metal from 2005. Aswell Lalu is invited on this album to do the key passages on Not From This World. The music Tomorrow's Even play is something between Vanden Plas and Dream Theater, but they have their own aproach. The album as I espectd in first place is nothing grounbreaking or original, but has some very fine moments like :Amnesia, the rough Pain and Irreversible, the rest are just ok. They alternate some very strong and well done instrumental passages with some realy mediocre, that made from this album to be only 3 stars. Pleasent most of the time with LeMar shining on every piece, but as whole is not a masterpiece or something close. But the album desearve 3 stars, is a good one but not excellent. Tomorrow's Eve is considered among the top bands from Germany in prog metal, along with Vanden Plas, Dreamscape and others. A band that needs attention in the future, they have potential, and if they know how to use it, we only can hear good things from them. The CD is available on LionMusic like the next one. So, enjoy this band who is now on the path to recognition. The next one is a little better than this one.

3 stars This fourth full length album from German outfit Tomorrow's Eve should appeal to many listeners interested in metal in general and progressive metal in particular.

It's not that good a release though, neither in terms of originality nor compositional strength. The sound and style explored is a simplified version of Dream Theater as they sounded on Awake, dark riff patterns with some aggression, mellow segments thrown in here and there - including a ballad almost a replica of Space Dye Vest at times - where the main difference is less complexity in performance and structure as well as less room for the synths in the soundscape.

The vocals are compelling in a melodramatic manner though, the melodies if not original are easy to get familiar with; and it's a concept album with a dark theme and story told. Many metal fans, especially the younger ones, will probably find this one highly enjoyable.

4 stars By this album Tomorrow,s Eve finally is consecrated as one of the most important prog metal bands of this days. As Dream Theater,Symphony X,Shadow Gallery and Andromeda.

Excellent voice i must say . Melodies in the vein Symphony X(but more progressive) and Dream Theater.

May be there is a little involutions for progers lovers.

The later 2 albums were a little more progressive.Most of songs very long(here only the last one is very extended) with a lot of progressive evolution with a more important keyboards participation.

This album is near as good as those 2 but i can feel i little temptation to be searched by a bigger audience.

But is very good to discover here that TE is still strongly immerse in the prog rock music.In comparison i have a doubt with the last works of Symphony X,Dream Theater or Andromeda.

5 stars Hi Everybody!
Hailin' right from Morocco : it's one of the most accomplished albums i ever heard in my life: imagine VIRGIN STEELE and VANDEN PLAS in one Band that what's TOMORROW'S EVE is all about :compared to the new "pseudo-prog metal bands" TOMORROW'S EVE stands as one of the new leaders of progressive metal.
I admit that i am writing this review based on one listening but i got enough experience to know that the CD is not gonna leave my Sony discman for a long while because.
You got everything within it :
* REVOLUTION OF HIGH TECHNIQUE (in every sense of the word by every musician)
* MELODIC CHOPS (the guitar)
* MAGNIFICENT CONCEPT'S LYRICS
* TERRIFIC HIGH RANGE VOCALS

And the important thing is you won't be able to forward a track as it's usual with some albums. You got wonderful 12 tracks made with "heart of steel" without any boring commercial ballad, of course We got smooth slow passages in M.O.C 2 but each real progger will realize that we got affair with very high professional guys who don't mock with the fans.
I can make a review like those we read from some excellent reviewers here but the stuff is too PERFECT that it'll take me the whole day to analyse you every part of the album because the disc just simply works like hell !!!
BUY IT THE EYES CLOSED !! YOU WON'T REGRET IT and i'm itching to have it on Digital Audio format than 320 kpbs mp3 format.

Stay tuned :-)
