MY NAME IS JANET

Aviva was known for his impressive Classical keyboard techniques and Avant Garde vibes on his albums with Aviva/Aviva Omnibus, but you should keep only the heavier aspects of his music for his new project, which is essentially a Heavy Prog band with blistering Fusion injections.Not much of a Classical influence in here, although some symphonic keyboards are still present, but ''Red room blue'' is basically a more quirky and less experimental album than anything released previously by Lukianenko, structured around mascular guitar leads, marching bass and drum grooves and frenetic keyboard moves with a weird palette of vocal lines, some of which are highly distorted.Quite complex music, which still holds some space for lighter and more melodic parts, but prepare to listen to some odd time meters, sudden breaks from furious rhythmic patterns to jazzy interludes and even some modern touches in the keyboard effects.In fact the vocals are pretty irritating and remind me more of a struggling ROINE STOLT, but the music prevails in this album with the long instrumental fanfares: Spacious keyboard parts, flashy synth solos, jazzy-spiced guitar techniques and even some bombastic and epic deliveries in the tradition of old Prog bands with an intense lyricism.PROFUSION, early KARMAKANIC and a less pompous A.C.T. are pretty accurate reference points.

Great attempt on angular Heavy Prog with Fusion-like virtuosic offerings and even a Pop flair in the vocal parts.Uptempo and dense music, which deserves wider recognition.Strongly recommended...3.5 stars.
