Infinite Spectrum biography
INFINITE SPECTRUM are a progressive metal band from New York, USA. It all started in 2007 when Alex REPETTI (bass) and Alex RAYKIN (guitar) met each other in college and began composing music for what was to become the band's debut album ''Misguided''. It was just after when the instruments for the album were recorded that singer and composer Will SEVERIN began writing and recording the vocals. ''Misguided'' was mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winning audio engineer, Chris Theis and was released in late 2012. At about the same time, Eddie REDOVANE (drums and percussion) joined the band.

INFINITE SPECTRUM cite DREAM THEATER, STEVE VAI, SYMPHONY X, JOE SATRIANI, RUSH and YES among their influences and describe their style as 'prog drama', owing to the many theatrical elements and focusing on story-telling.

4 stars INFINITE SPECTRUM is a new band ,emerged from the New York prog metal scene! It's a very ambitious and skilled band, which managed to release the debut album MISGUIDED at the end of 2012!The first impression of this album is-of course-the superbe art cover, trully excellent and intriguing! Then, the timing of the album is more than impressive too-almost 80 minutes...79 ,to be more preciselly-wow!that's trully spectacular and huge! The cd is self produced, but it's 100 % proffesional and carefully made, with a nice booklet and a very attractive presentation!Musically speaking,on MISGUIDED,we have solid prog metal music, crunchy guitar riffs, superbe keyboard interventions, powerful drumming and an excellent vocalist, with a very wide range of musical expression, just perfect for this pretentious style!Definitelly, the Dream Theater comparison is obvious, but the guys have their own personality and musical vision! The instrumental parts are trully impressive, and we are spoiled with long instrumental passages, where all the guys in INFINITE SPECTRUM are delivering the whole passion, technical skills and belief for this great music that is prog metal!Duels between guitar and keyboards, impressive technical chops and twists, everything is more than catchy and impressive, because we speak here about a debut album! It's simply unbelieveble how high this guys have put the musical quality standard with this album!Amazing indeed!!!!The monster tracks of the album, the killer compositions-Day and night and The challenge are breathtaking! All the imagination of the band and the great musical ideas that they have are exposed here-more calm passages, very emotional lyrics and vocal interpretation, then an technical explosion where all the guys seem to deliver all their impressive technical skills in a very spectacular form!!A special mention for the quality for the lyrics,an aspect that is very much taken in consideration by the band, showing that the guys have a very precise and clear musical vision about theis music!Being a strong concept album,we have some cinematic passages a la Pink Floyd, with voice overs and shattered glasses sounds or dramatic voices-everything id so interesting and intriguing!Definitelly,a major musical discovery this album and I strongly recommend to all good high quality prog metal lovers to grab this album, because it's simply sensational!INFINITE SPECTRUM prove with this album that they seem to have an infinite inspiration for great prog metal compositions and the future seems to be more than shining and promissing for them!Congratulations and endless respect!4.5 stars for something impressive!!!

3 stars From New York - USA comes this fantastic young progressive metal band formed in 2007. Their first opus was released in fall of 2012 named Misguided and what an album it is, really a solid work in this field. Misguided is pretty awesome from start to finish, all is done perfectly from the sound who is crystal clear, brilliant musicianship and very strong instrumental sections, not to mention that are some very acrobatic vocal lines made by Will Severin, what a fantastic powerful voice has this guy, really nice. Behind this album is a concept- in few words is about revenge and failure in life among the 4 characters involved in the story line. Musicaly speaking this band kick ass, some impressive instrumental sections offered by the 4 musicians, specially the drumer and guitarist are insanely good. Progressive metal with some influences from Symphony X here and there but without that neo classical aproach, this is almost considered by me a pure prog metal album, no power metal elements added in the mix no neo classical arrangements to be found here, this is just pure prog metal like old school. FRom more calmer moments to bursting instrumental passages - Infinite Spectrum done it with this album, pieces like the opening Overture who sets the listner for the things to come, More Than He Bargained For or Man of darkness are really solid prog metal pieces, that for sure will please any prog metal fan big time. The duels between instruments are excellent, very solid keyboards, guitars and druming. The album is pretty long 80 min of music, but my ears were fully conectect from first to last track, no boring moments, only if there was in some places more hooks and memorable parts. All in all this quite almost recommended prog metal album, definetly one of the best of 2012, at least from my view. 3.5 stars easy.
