Laplace biography
Laplace was formed in April 2006 when guitarist Mariano Cepeda, bassist Luciano Lalía and drummer Federico Isasti decided to form a band in their spare time while doing the highschool. A few months later, Fernando Palomeque joins them on piano and keyboards. At the end of the year and during the 2007, the band plays in several theaters and festivals. With the incorporation of Angela Parodi in alto sax and the retirement of Luciano Lalia, Laplace record its first album, which is in the middle of an EP and a LP, so its nicknamed ELP. At the end of the same year, the musical style changes, taking a new direction. Nowadays, Laplace is formed by Ignacio Szulga on bass, Angela Parodi on alto sax, clarinet and vocals, Mariano Cepeda on guitars and vocals and Federico Isasti on drums.

Thanks to Federico Isasti of Laplace for the biography.

Review by Robert Beriau

4 stars I just discovered this group by their studio album «Laplace» (2008).

This is a really nice and surprising album with great melodies, well played and mixed. I really like «Otra Vez La Misma Estúpida Fantasía », a 7m40s song. This piece makes beautifull «speaches» between guitars (electric and acoustic) and the dark acoustical piano, well played by Fernando Palomeque.

The bass is also placed with taste and in harmony, sometimes with the melody, sometimes with the rythmic of the drums. The voices is also fine and makes me remember sometimes to prog italian band from the '70s and '80s, but Laplace keeps colors and music texture of its own.

I really like this group from Buenos Aeres (Argentina)...thanks and well done guys !

4 stars A great band from argentina with superb atmosphers and dramatic music that realy shocked me.

The first track "La Naranja Mecánica " is 14:49 minutes with many scale and atmosphere changes that indicate that this is certainly a very progressive album! i like the spoken words in this track and the second one "Otra Vez La Misma Estúpida Fantasía".personally don`t know spanish but it realy affects me.

i choose the "Otra Vez La Misma Estúpida Fantasía" the best track in the album with a superb giutar solo after a dramatic and mellow piano part. and it has a beautiful organ part in the start.

"Del Humo Y La Suerte" the third and last track is good enough again with a delightful guitar solo and satisfying vocals and piano in the background that in last minutes have combination of sax. This is a great album with no doubt.

4 stars
