Gravity biography
GRAVITY is a Progressive Metal band influenced by DREAM THEATER, GENESIS, JOE SATRIANI, RUSH and the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. Straight out of Cleveland, they are causing a stir with their energetic and engaging music. The band has opened for DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X, KAMELOT and SONATA ARCTICA, and they have won many competitions in Ohio, including the Live Nation 2007 High School Rock Off at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame where they were placed first out of over 200 bands. In 2009 and 2010, they performed at the Three Rivers Progressive Rock Festival (3RP) in Pittsburgh, sharing the stage with many progressive rock bands. In 2011 they were featured in a Toyota commercial aired in Northeast Ohio. Their first full-length CD, "Into Oblivion", was released in 2007, and they are currently performing in support of their 2010 release, "Midnight Sonata", showing considerable skill and maturity in their live performances despite of their young age.

— First review of this album —
4 stars Absolutely killer album, this band is one of the highest calibre in prog zone, one of the most solid debuts of all times - Into Oblivion released in 2007.

Well, I'm telling with my hand on heart , this is one of the best and most captivating instrumental prog metal albums I've ever know and listen to so far. Lots of tempo changes, nice moves from slow to more up tempo, done with really good and smooth passages, elegant keyboards and an awesome guitar player. The band, 4 members, showing considerable skills and maturity right from the start , even the the age of each member is around 20. All pieces are strong, not a boring moment here, all instruments are at full capacity , specially the guitar and keyboards are awesome at best. Why the hell , band with such talent gone so unnoticed is beyond me, they really kick ass all the way and far better the most of the bands from this genre with name. With influences of course from DT, Symphony X in places or even Joe Satriani, Gravity define the instrumental prog metal of our days, with a piece like Bring Me to Life among others or Midnight Drive or Oblivion is absolutly killer from first to last second . So, definetly from me 4 stars easy, recommended big time, there is plenty to like on this offer by the band . Excellent. Sadly far to unknown in prog circles, is a shame, among the most intresting bands ever emerged from USA in last 2 decades.

4 stars Gravity from USA (don't be confused with countless bands with same name) are a very very talented young band who produce so far 3 albums. They gained across the years a very solid reputation in live circuit from USA, bands like Dream Theater, Symphony X or Kamelot were impressed big time by their performence, Gravity opening the shows from these bands. With highly engaging and energic progressive metal music they really done it with the second album released in 2010 named Midnight sonata. The band, 4 members, showing considerable skills and maturity , even the the age of each member is around 20. All pieces are strong, not a boring moment here, all instruments are at full capacity , specially the guitar and keyboards are awesome at best. Why the hell , band with such talent gone so unnoticed is beyond me, they really kick ass all the way and far better the most of the bands from this genre with name. With influences of course from DT, Symphony X in places or even Joe Satriani, Gravity define the instrumental prog metal of our days, with a piece like Chasing the sun among others, clocking around 6.30 min, is absolutly killer from first to last second of the piece. Another highlight, in fact all are highlights here, is maybe the last tune Nightmare sonata, another major performance by this young band. So, definetly from me 4 stars easy, recommended big time, there is plenty to like on this second offer by the band and I think their best from the 3 so far. Excellent.

Thanks to Bonnek for the artist addition.
