I was born small and got smaller. Soon I was a speck of dust, chased in a tall black maze by an angry bird with a diamond beak. In years to come, the dream would change. I would be stranded in a silver desert, stalked by a single beam of blood-red brilliance. When I landed near a liner note, I was struck by the enormity of the names.
Of course, none of that is real. There is no bird, no silver desert. No Rael. No place called Sunhillow. No wizards, not even teachers, just men and women with pant legs and tax returns to fill out. So why do our hearts leap when the progressive masters call? Because in travelling to new places, they've left the door open for the rest of us. Not every trip is the same, however, which is where we critical types come in I suppose. There are roads worth taking, some with humble names and lovely vistas, others with tantalizing titles that lead to tract housing. So what follows is more cartography than criticism. Happy trails, whichever road you take!
FAVORITE ARTISTS:
The BEATLES, David BOWIE, Brian ENO, GENESIS, GENTLE GIANT, JETHRO TULL, KING CRIMSON, ROXY MUSIC, TANGERINE DREAM, YES, Frank ZAPPA... eh, you know the drill.
That's it. Thanks again for the opportunity to share my reviews with a wider audience.
