Ad Astra biography
US outfit AD ASTRA was formed by composer and guitarist Joe Nardulli in 2008. This as a direct result of his self-titled solo album, who made an impact among fellow musicians and which one way or another made him come in contact with David Penna (drums), J. Levine (bass) and Eric Davis (keyboards).

This New York based quartet released their self-titled debut album in 2008.

4 stars Ad Astra (not to be confused with other bands with same name) is a prog fusion metal band from USA with one album in their pockets so far self titled from 2008. Formed by good guitarist Joe Nardulli who released a solo album in 2003. THis is an obscure band, totaly unknown, but belive the ideas musicins put here are fantastic, not to mention that the duels between keyboards and guitar are far more intresting then on many well known bands. This is mainly progressive metal but on each piece the direction is clearly towards jazz fusion, giving in the end a fusion metal of the highest calibre. I fogot to say thet all pieces are instrumental, there is enough space for each musicin to show that they mean bussines in this field. Some killer tunes are La Cosa Nostradamus, True north or Hiding the One, fantastic playing that will make envious any serious musician from respected bands in this field. A total winner album to my ears, unfairly unnoticed, I saw in many other parts that is quite high rated and for good reason. Recommended and 4 stars easy. Similar or for fans who enjoy LTE, Anomaly (the dutch band), etc.

Thanks to windhawk for the artist addition. and to CCVP for the last updates
