5 stars Did you guys even notice that Almagest is a type of musical composition never seen before in progressive music and i think never seen in music. Almagest is the final "bridge" fusion between space prog and electronic prog, a thing that Tangerine Dream and Brian Eno were incapable of doing. For example in Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, there is a minimalist ambient composition a la prog electronic that continues through the music but after a while a different sector music starts to sound space prog, because of the synthesizers composition and the flute solo that leads the music into another instrumental different sector. And in contrary to other space prog bands like Pink Floyd that use guitar, the flute add much more space feeling. The drums is playing in a superb style and you may even think that they are in constantly desacceleration. At this moment there are two different sectors music separatedely playing but heres the genius work comes and the bass in a dissonant tone is unifying all the music in one compact piece. Almagest is really a tecnical composition album and the big surprise of the year,a superb achievement and future progressive fans will certainly recognize the notable originality artistic composition of this in modern progressive music. Superb.
