Rodolfo
1 stars Well, I must warn people out there; this is not the Tempano from "Childhood's end" or "The agony and the ecstasy". On this Tempano incarnation the only original member from "Atabal-Yémale" line-up is the drummer, Gerardo Ubieda, whom by the way owns the name. This Tempano is the mid 80's band that performed just pop commercial songs for the mainstream public in Venezuela. They even were showcased in a variety show on Venezuelan television and had a number 1 hit on AM radio (there were no commercial FM on those days). This band suffered the same fate as Genesis during the 80' (only worse, covering songs from Spanish pop group La Union "Lobo hombre en Paris" and a Spanish version of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" "El hombre del piano", without a single trace of progressive feeling overall) following a worldwide trend from the prog business. Amazingly, IMO Alexis Peńa has a voice suitable for progressive records unlike Pedro Castillo whose voice is more "commercial", but here AP voice is completely wasted. This record as other Latin pop ones from the 80's is poorly produced and sound like everybody. There is not a single prog moment on this "greatest hits" compilation and as a pop release is not astounding either. So I give it 1 star.
