3 stars "Spread your Wings " is one of my favourite songs from Queen, and was composed by John Deacon. With very good lyrics about a man who wants changes in his life, in my opinion the best version of this song is not the studio version which was released in this single and in the "News of the World" album from 1977, but the live version which was released in the "Queen Live Killers" album from 1979. This studio version is good but it is not very energetic in comparison, in particular in Brian May`s solo at the end of the song. The live version was played with more energy in general by all the members of the band, particularly by the drums, and in the lead vocals by Freddie Mercury.

The "B" side, "Sheer Heart Attack", is a song composed by Roger Taylor, also from the "News of the World" album, which is also a good, song, more heavy, with rhythm guitars and bass played by him. But again, the live version from "Queen Live Killers" is more energetic and better.

Two very good songs in this single.
