CYCLE OF ETERNITY

The doom, cavernous sound of Nekropolis' krautrocking pieces have gone in order to let the place to very light "cosmic" synth orchestrations. I highly regret the new musical path followed by Frohmader after his three first essays with Nekropolis. In this recent effort, all compositions are written and played for analog instruments and computer. All titles combine minimal electronic patterns to theatrical-weird-symphonic melodies. The sound is a disaster and melodies reveal totally non inspired motifs. Some curious, eccentric harmonies for xylophone or synth arpeggios are mixed to the "trip". "Laughable" programmed beats are also included to make it punchy (In the "heroic fantasist" Inexorability.) . To sum up things: a really poor, childish synthesised environnement with commercial electronic sequences and dark pop melodies. A poor progression into more melodic territories with a great dose of "indulgence" in the way instruments and electronics are used.
