RUSH took a break from their routine to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album and to commemorate this achievement the band decided to release an EP of nothing but covers of songs that influenced them in their early days. Although I am rarely thrilled by cover albums unless they significantly deviate from the original sound, I have to say that RUSH does a good job in covering these 8 tracks and it actually makes me think of what they would sound like if they were a 60s band. Unfortunately they do these tracks very well and remind us that they still sound good and point to the fact that they have become weak in the songwriting department in recent releases. This is a decent album but not one that I will be revisiting on a regular basis.
