3 stars After hearing the sheer brilliance of the debut LP, felt I needed to hear more. This short but sweet album of demos and rarities would do nicely. I knew before playing that this would not be as good as the 1st LP (see my review) but it has its moment. Some CD reissues contain all these tracks as bonus cuts on the debut.

The 1st two tracks are from a single released at the time. They are the real highlight of the whole album, sticking to the vein of (all together now) the 1st LP. Followed up by demos of listenable but varying quality, the only other outstanding track is Yes Man. Superbly played and brilliantly sung, it has all the qualities of the band rolled into 7 minutes.

After that, things seem to be a bit a bit average really. Fairly enjoyable, but nothing overly special. The cover of I Am The Walrus is interesting. Not sure if the incorrect lyrics on this version were done on purpose, who knows?

Worth getting as a follow up to the first LP - once you here that one, you'll be thirsty for more anyway, I know I was.
