5 stars Although a longtime fan of early Genesis, I was at first hesitant to pick up this album for fear it would be a letdown. Fortunately I was terribly wrong. It's an outstanding release from beginning to end. I was always curious what the extent of Hackett's input was into the songwriting of early Genesis - after hearing this album it's clear to see he was a dominant force. As others have pointed out, this record sounds like a classic Genesis album that was never made. Hackett is often overlooked in discussions of virtuoso guitarists, and what a shame. He is a brilliant player and gifted songwriter. No prog fan should be without this one.
