5 stars This album has blown me away, even after only 5+ listens. This is quite rare for concept albums, as I don't all ways find them too easy to digest. The instrumentation is incredible for the most part, much of it fairly ambient (remining me, in a good way, of Tales from Topographic Oceans, and perhaps some early PT (sky moves sideways)). In fact, much of my favourite bits are the instrumental sections, although the singers voice is growing on me. I won't review all the tracks, but only my highlights. Overture- An awesome instrumental, bringing in bits from throughout the album- great opener. Subterranea- The track that i picked up as an introduction, good choice. Failsafe- I love this song, especially a vocal part in the middle. King of Fools- The vocals in this song are great to listen to. Capricorn- The start of this song is admittiedly fairly average (for this album), but the sax part near the end is the bit that makes it outstanding for me. The Other Side- This is my favourite track on the album, a truly stunning instrumental, and so different from what has came before. The Narrow Margin- I am not sure what to make of the epic piece yet, but around the 10.5 min mark there is a great piano part that i adore. Overall, this album is one I am sure I will come back to again and again, due to the stunning instrumental parts throughout, and the singers individual style. 4.5-5 stars.
